Fever Dream, 50” x 38”
Plant-based
I’ve always had an affinity with nature; having farmers and gardeners on both sides of my family and growing up in a house filled with plants, I find comfort in their presence. Faced with the isolation and uncertainty of the pandemic, I began to use the visual language of plants in my work. In some cases I placed them in methodically arranged compositions to express my desire for order, and in other pieces the compositions grew haphazardly, expressing the disorder of both my state of mind and the state of events in the world.
